The BRC717 and BRC518 product line is a reliable and cost-effective replacement for all models (with or without encryption)of the IBM4777 (BRC717) Magnetic Stripe Reader / Encoder (MSR/ MSRE) and the IBM4778 (BRC518) PIN Pad.
BRC717 MSRE and BRC518 PIN Pad can be directly applied to an IBM financial work station ( PC ), work with the IBM LANDP and CT financial system without any change of hardware and software.
BRC717 MSRE performs reliable and accurate, has a beautiful and firm cover of zinc alloy. BRC518 PIN Pad has an optional function of sound promote.

Interface & Power Supply

Both BRC717 and BRC518 are connectedeither with the PS/2 mouse port or the Serial (RS232) port of the IBM branch teller terminal (PC). Both devices can share one of the ports and can also connect to either of the ports individually. When connected to the PS/2 mouse port through the BRC1758M cable, the devices are powered by the +5V of the mouse port. When connected to the RS232 port, the devices are powered by the +5V of the PS/2 mouse port or the keyboard port of the IBM PC through the BRC1758S cable adapter.
